Expert Combat Tips for Thriving in Star Wars Outlaws
- Combat isn’t always necessary. Unlike many games, defeating enemies in Star Wars Outlaws doesn’t reward you with XP or significant loot, aside from the occasional consumable drop. This means you can often avoid combat altogether without worrying about missing out on valuable resources or progression.
- Use Nix to take down guard pairs silently. When dealing with two guards in a stealth scenario, you can dispatch them without raising an alarm. Start by finding a hidden spot where you can see both guards. Send Nix to attack one of them, causing the other guard to be distracted. While the second guard is focused on their comrade, use the blaster’s stun feature (RB/R1/F) on them, then quickly take out the one Nix is attacking before they can react.
- The Empire uses a wanted system. Although you may not encounter Imperials frequently, they have their own wanted system that activates during interactions. At higher levels, these wanted statuses won’t disappear on their own—you’ll need to either bribe an Imperial officer or hack a bounty terminal in a secure area to clear it. For more details, check out our guide on clearing your wanted status.
- You can recover stealth after being spotted. If a lone guard catches you while you’re sneaking around, it doesn’t mean you’ve failed. If you can quickly close the distance and take them down with a melee attack, they won’t have a chance to raise the alarm. A Stun Shot works as well, but keep in mind that it takes a while to recharge.
- The game autosaves before combat. If you’re caught during a stealth approach and want a do-over, you can immediately reload the most recent autosave after the fight starts. This will bring you back to just before the combat began, giving you another opportunity to remain undetected.
