Ubisoft Introduces Customizable Star Wars Outlaws Xbox Controllers Through Xbox Design Labs
Ubisoft has launched new customizable options for Xbox controllers inspired by its highly anticipated game, Star Wars Outlaws, allowing fans to personalize their gaming gear. Available through Xbox Design Labs, these controller designs let players tailor every aspect, from button colors to controller textures, including options for both standard and Xbox Elite controllers.
Star Wars Outlaws, set to release on August 30, marks Ubisoft’s first venture into an open-world Star Wars game. It will immerse players in the expansive universe of Star Wars, following the story of Kay Vess and her companion Nix as they navigate the dangerous criminal underworld and challenge the notorious Hutts among other crime syndicates. The game also features groundbreaking gameplay that allows seamless travel from a planet’s surface to orbit.
The new controller options include two distinct Star Wars Outlaws themes. The first design mimics the game’s cover art with a sleek black body, orange thumbsticks, and bumpers, plus a metallic teal D-Pad on a standard Xbox controller. The second, available for Xbox Elite controllers, offers a lighter teal body complemented by white face buttons and sticks, highlighted with a silver D-Pad. Fans can easily access these designs on Xbox Design Labs’ website, where the colors are pre-set for convenience.
Opting for customizable designs through Xbox Design Labs instead of releasing limited-edition controllers allows more gamers to access these unique designs at standard prices. While this means the designs lack certain specialized features, it also opens up possibilities for fans to add personal touches to their controllers using the provided color schemes.
With several months left until the game’s launch, Xbox players have ample time to design their Star Wars Outlaws-themed controllers. As anticipation builds, more details about Star Wars Outlaws are expected to emerge at the upcoming Ubisoft Forward showcase on June 10, where Ubisoft will delve deeper into the game and its features.
